Canada’s current system blocks timely access to psilocybin-assisted therapy for people with severe depression, PTSD, addiction, and end-of-life distress, many of whom have no effective alternatives. Evidence shows this treatment can reduce suicidal thinking, ease trauma, support recovery from addiction, and relieve overwhelming anxiety in terminally ill patients. But excessive red tape delays or denies care, forcing patients to suffer needlessly or seek risky alternatives.
